About USCitizenship101

Free, independent help for people preparing to become U.S. citizens.

USCitizenship101 is a free study website for people preparing for the U.S. citizenship test and the naturalization interview. Everything here is built for one goal: helping you walk into your USCIS interview calm and ready, whether you learned English as a child or last year.

We started the site because most applicants study alone, with a printed list and little idea of what the interview actually feels like. Free, accurate practice that follows the real rules should be easy to find, so we built it, in English and in Spanish.

What you can do here

Where our information comes from

We only use primary sources:

  • Civics questions and answers come word for word from the lists USCIS publishes for applicants, including the 2025 test (128 questions) and the 2008 test (100 questions), and the questions marked for the 65/20 exception.
  • Rules about eligibility, fees and the interview come from USCIS forms and instructions, the USCIS Policy Manual (Volume 12, Citizenship and Naturalization), and USCIS news releases.
  • Answers that change, like the President, the Speaker of the House, or your senators and governor, are checked against the USCIS test updates page, the U.S. Senate, the Clerk of the House of Representatives, and the National Governors Association.
  • Spanish translations of the 2008 questions are the official USCIS translation. USCIS has not published a Spanish version of the 2025 questions, so that translation is ours and is a study aid only: the test itself is in English.

How we keep the site accurate

Every page and article is written by the USCitizenship101 Editorial Team and checked against the official source before it is published. We link to that source when a rule matters, so you can confirm it yourself. We review the site whenever USCIS changes the test, a form or a fee, and after every election that changes an answer. Each article shows the date it was last updated.

If you find a mistake, please tell us. We read every message and correct errors quickly.

Free, private and independent

There is no account and no fee. Your practice progress is saved only on your own device. The site is supported by advertising, and advertisers have no say over what we write.

We are not a government agency, we are not affiliated with USCIS, and we are not lawyers. Nothing here is legal advice. For advice about your own case, talk to a licensed immigration attorney or a DOJ-accredited representative.

Study with us anywhere

We also publish free practice videos and animated mock interviews on YouTube and Facebook, with a new civics question every day.
